New garb

I have started new garb! I’m making earlier period Rus, mainly usingĀ info from Sofya la RusĀ (http://www.strangelove.net/~kieser/Russia/). So far, I have gotten rid of most of a chunk of greenish checked wool for a panova, and tonight I assembled an upper tunic using some dark purplish wool that I have had in my stash for eons. I have started hemming half of my veil weight fabric, and I have cut out some red linen that I had been saving for a cotehardie that I must admit I will never make. The red linen will be for my second tunic. I have white linen for another undertunic, but I may abandon that for now, in favour of finishing up everything else for an event in two weeks. I still need to cut out a cap and make a hat – for which I have a lovely mink piece that is a little worn on one side, so isn’t suitable for much else. Eyeballs may bleed at the colour combination, but I will have made a dent in the stash!
